Our Special Needs cats and kittens often need daily medication or they have physical conditions that require special living conditions.  Many of these cats become lifetime residents because we can't find proper homes for them.  Here are two of our Special Needs feline friends looking for their own special forever homes. Click on their names to learn more about them.
Medication and/or special food will be provided to you if needed.  We also require that Special Needs cats return to us for regular check-ups.For more information about adopting a Special Needs cat, please contact our shelter at 492-6200.

Become a Medical Angel

Many of the cats at St. Francis are “medically challenged.”   Our resident cats are aging, and along with that come the inevitable physical infirmities associated with elderly cats - renal failure, diabetes, bowel issues and even cancer.  Some of our younger residents also have medical issues which require regular medication or treatments. We even have ill or injured cats abandoned at our shelter by owners who cannot afford to pay for their pets’ medical care.

St. Francis is a no-kill rescue shelter.  Euthanasia is only a treatment of last resort when a cat no longer has any quality of life and pain can no longer be controlled.  All of our cats are provided with whatever medical treatment is necessary to assure them the opportunity to enjoy life for as long as possible.

Medication and treatments can be very expensive.  Please sponsor one of our medically needy cats by becoming one special cat’s MEDICAL ANGEL for a year. Your donation of $100 or more will help defray the cost of your chosen cat’s medical expenses.  You will receive a photo of your special cat along with regular updates from him/her throughout the year.

With your help, we can continue to ensure that all of our cats are given every opportunity to enjoy their lives to
      the fullest.
